Welcome to the Lord Haig!

A traditional pub delight in the town centre of Hertfordshire’s county town, The Lord Haig has been a McMullen house since 1920, and we feel extremely lucky to be the current custodians and tenants of this historic pub. - Steve and Collette

We look forward to greeting you and will do all we can to make your visit fun, and most importantly, one you want to repeat!  If you are local you will already know the wonderful Julie who has been looking after week day patrons for the last 28 years.

If you are looking for a GREAT pint of Macs AK, a pint of trendy Camden Hells, a casual coffee with a friend, hitting the fizz on a Friday or slamming some weekend shots, we have it all.

There’s a great list of cocktails and we do a 2 for £12 offer ALL DAY EVERY DAY!  Shaken and stirred.

Oh, and a growing wine list too.

Please ask if you want us to get something in for you, we will do our best to make it happen.

Our kitchen is having an over-hall, but we can offer you hotdogs, burgers, baps, paninis, toasties and pizzas.

We love our sports and can show multiple games so please ask if there is something you want on.  We have 4 TV’s and a big screen with new projector, thanks to those of you who put up with the old picture.

With both Sky and TNT there is always something on!

LIVE BANDS EVERY SATURDAY is something we have inherited, and we are keen to keep going, please come and support us.  It’s ALWAYS FREE ENTRY with the exception of New Years Eve.

Have you seen the Big Fat Quiz?  Every Thursday 8pm – from the 9th November 23.

It’s a hoot! AND the play your cards right cash pot is always a lovely end to the night.

We are so glad to be here and hoping to see you soon, The Lord Haig.

What our customers say..

5 Stars!

If you're looking for a fantastic pub experience, look no further than The Lord Haig!

My visit to The Lord Haig was absolutely delightful from start to finish. The ambiance is charming, with its classic, cozy British pub atmosphere. As soon as I stepped in, I felt like I had been transported to a welcoming and authentic English pub.
